Zakir Ali
Ali Zakir received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Information Technology from the University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2012 and 2015, respectively, where he was awarded a departmental gold medal for his Master’s degree. He completed his Ph.D. in Informatics at the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan, in 2025. He worked as a Research Assistant at Sony Computer Science Laboratories for one year and is currently a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at Sony Computer Science Laboratories, inc. Tokyo. His research focuses on computer vision and deep learning, with particular interests in 2D human pose estimation, hand pose estimation, human tracking, gesture recognition, hyperspectral imaging, medical imaging, and bioinformatics. He also works on multimodal AI, including speech and natural language processing.
