A future with Mental Barrier-Free Society.
Challenges From the Field of Neuroscience
Our Mission

A society that embraces diversity in brain functions

Neural dispositions that have helped humans survive in the long evolutionary history may be perceived as “maladaptive” in the modern world. We believe that individuals with such neural dispositions could make us collectively more tolerant of diverse social challenges. Thus, instead of letting those individuals struggle through the modern ages on their own, we aim to create a mental barrier-free society where neurotechnologies and environments can bring out the potential of diverse individuals regardless of their neural dispositions.

Our Approach
Understanding brain mechanisms
To elucidate the neural mechanisms that induce anxiety and fear in the complex real world, we leverage various neuroimaging techniques, such as fMRI and EEG, in experiments with naturalistic scenarios.
Alleviating mental health issues
To support individuals suffering from excessive anxiety and fear in their daily lives, we apply basic science to develop alleviation technologies such as neurofeedback and VR training.
Enhancing neurodiversity
To better accommodate stigmatized emotional or personality traits such as anxiety in communities, we build unique scientific approaches and in-society projects.
