Research Assistant

Aiko Watanabe is classical Saxophonist and certified Alexander Technique teacher (ATI). After graduating from Aichi University of the Arts, she worked extensively as a performer and educator. Through her performance career, she developed a strong interest in the psychophysiological changes that occur during musical performance, which led her to pursue a master’s degree at Keio University Graduate School of Media and Governance, where she was awarded the SFC Aiiso Prize.

She is currently a doctoral student at the same university, exploring the relationship between musicians’ psychological and physiological states during performance and the quality of their performance, with a particular focus on how performers perceive and regulate their bodily sensations and physiological responses.
